Click-through-rate (CTR)

CTR, or Click-Through Rate, measures the proportion of users who progress from one stage to another in a process, such as from seeing an ad to clicking on it, or opening a newsletter to visiting a linked e-commerce site.

CTR is mostly used for different funnel-like journeys where you are interested in the ratio of users/visitors going from position A to position B. It could be, for example, CTR on ads; of those who have seen the ad, how many click it? Or for those who have opened a newsletter, how many click on a link to go to the e-commerce website?
